Blog Assingment 10 A

Here is a LINK to an article on changethis.com called "Freak Factor: Discovering Uniqueness by Flaunting Weakness".  This article gives nine different suggestions about being more unique is working with your creative process.  These nine things are: What is my problem?, What is your problem? Flawless: There's nothing wrong with you, Forget it: don't try to fix your weaknesses, Foundation: build on your strengths, Focus: you can't do both, Fit: find the right spot, Freak: the power of uniqueness, Freak Factory: putting your quirks to work.  For this assignment we had to pick three of this suggestions to talk about in a blog post.  The three suggestions that I have chosen are: Forget it: don't try to fix your weaknesses, Foundation: build on your strengths, and Fit: find the right spot.  The first suggestion is Forget it: don't try to fix your weaknesses.  This one seemed really good to me because it is basically just telling people to be themselves.  You cannot be creative in this world if you just fall in line and do whatever everyone else in the world is doing.  In order to do something original you need to tap into your own creative self to dig out a really good and original idea that can potentially change the world.  The second suggestion that I chose was Foundation: build on your strengths.  This suggestion is all about not trying to do things that you aren't meant to do.  For example if you are a very talented painter but are not very good at sculpting you shouldn't grow up to be a sculptor because this is not one of your true strengths.  Finding your strengths and using them to your advantage will help you to be as successful as possible in your career and in life in general.  The third and final suggestion that I chose from this article was Fit: find the right spot.  This sort of goes along with the second suggestion that I chose.  Being comfortable at where you are in life is what makes is enjoyable.  These three tips and the rest are really great for being the unique person that you were always meant to be.

Here is a LINK to Kent's blog with his animation on it.  One of the main features of his animation was the Movement of his character.  His character is like a blob and moves around in a way that changes the shape of his body every time he moves.  His weight is heavy because he moves in a slow sluggish movement.  Another use of movement is his squash and stretch.  When the bullet goes into him his skin squashes in and then it stretches back and launches the bullet back at the store keeper.  The overlapping movements in the video are the character moving around while his arms are moving as well.  This is a great video for demonstrating movement in animations.

The Second person that I was supposed to write a review on had not posted his animation video so I could not write anything on it.

The third person had also not posted their animation on their blog.

Blog Assignment 9 A

One point that did not come across very well in our game presentation today was what Charlie Sheen is actually collecting in the game.  The game is called Charlie Sheen's coke adventure and this can bring some misconceptions.  When Charlie Sheen and coke are said in the same question people will automatically think of cocaine.  This game is meant for people of all ages and is actually about the drink coca-cola.  Charlie Sheen is running around drinking coke to get a buzz to run faster.  Another thing that did not come across well was the rewards that are earned after a level.  After every level the player is rewarded with a new catch phrase that is said by Charlie.  Each catch phrase has something to do with the level that has just been played or the level that is coming up.  The concept that is easiest to discuss in a presentation about gaming is the rules of the game.  The rules make up what the game is actually about and if rules are not presented there is no game.  Explaining rules is very easy because you can also just make them up as you go.
